Community Arts & Cultural Development Artist / Creative Producer

Lia has extensive experience working within the CACD sector across regional, remote and urban settings.  Lia has been highly successful in delivering dynamic creative programming and powerful platforms across cultural festivals, conferences and projects that focus on community empowerment, capacity building, intergeneration exchange and advocacy across art forms. 

Lia’s leadership has been showcased through her roles as the coordinator of Artback NT's Indigenous Traditional Dance Program (ITDP) in remote communities across the NT(2013-2017),  as the Festival Director of the Contemporary Pacific Arts Festival (2013-2015) and through her work with a variety of organisations including  Miriki Performing Arts, the Australia Council for the Arts and Lia’s current project Ngamumu (for Mothers)

Lia is recognised as a leading CACD practitioner in the Australian Arts & Cultural sector as received the CACD Australia Council for the Arts Fellowship in 2020 for her work with mums and babies during the first 1000 days. 

Lia is a contributor to “The Relationship is the Project” which has been recognised as a vital resource for artists and cultural workers who engage with community-based projects.
